Dear Mr Wang

15 Nov 06... Turned on laptop... Time was 0815hrs... Login to Hotmail... I was astonished to see this...

You maybe thinking, "HUH? What's the big deal? I receive way more comments on a single post than all his comments combined" But, unless you are Mr Brown, Mr Miyagi or Kenny Sia, it is not very often one receive 8 comments on your blog in a matter of 7 sleeping hours. Worst still, most of the comments were on the farmer issue some more. Disturbing thoughts start running through my mind... I was thinking Siao Liao (Oh No), this time Twa Ki (in trouble) big time man, don't tell me some big brother agency is monitoring my blog. I vaguely remembered someone told me to watch my back...

I couldn't help, but keep imagining the following scenario:

Introducing, get out of my uncaring face, Police for the Elite aka Agent 008. His one and only purpose... is to rid all peasants and farmers from the bright red dot...

008 on a raid to find the elusive farmer ring leader aka Ed***...

Alas, I tried to uncover the mystery behind this "in my own humble opinion of sudden flood of comments". Heng Ah! (Luckily) I set up my site meter last week, so can trace where my readers are from and who was the referral. Then again, if you are secret service, you won't be easily traced right? Anyways, this was what I uncovered...

Jia Lard Liao (in trouble) Why so many referrals from this site? Got the 'Singapore' word on its blog as well, must be some big shot lah, I guess. Then I found out it was this guy...

Chey! Its Mr Wang who bakes Karma, he's one of my daily reads and yet I didn't realise the referrals. Mr Wang must be a influential man, cos on the day he linked my post, I got this...

450 page visits on 14 Nov alone and it contributed to a third of my total site visits. This is INSANE!!! This blog started out as a means for my family and loved ones, especially my wifey to catch up with my daily life in Kentville, Nova Scotia, Canada. Never did I imagine this many hits!!! Ok, I'm not trying to be a whore here and Hao Lian (proud) ok, but its just startling to me.

To Mr Wang, I thank you for your concerns, but as I had commented on your post, I really don't think what I had said was any secret nor do I think it will build any resentment amongst the regulars.

I also realised that you had quite a few fans, including Mr Brown. I'm quite a fan as well, so can I shamelessly request you post the following on your "What Mr Wang's Fans Say About Him On Their Own Blogs":

"Mr Wang... very intellectual and influential man... also very caring" - Chronicles of Ed***

Yukes... So Gay....

And to my good friend from Macedonia, Vlatko, Special Thanks to you for being sporting enough to take on the role of Agent 008.

Not forgetting Oriental Express, how is this font colour? Hope its good enough for your eyes? :)

Hi Ed,

I pray that you will not get into trouble ok?

Anyway how's Nova Scotia? I actually just got my Canadian PR final approval. Thinking of migrating there in 2010. But thing is I won't be able to practise medicine there.

Hope you can share more what you think of Canada vs Singapore.

Cheers!

PS : I am Singaporean even though my blogger name says DrOzbloke. It's a long story.

Hey Doc,

If you are really thinking about migrating over to Canada, you might like to check out this out http://www.notcanada.com/top8reasons.htm and http://www.notcanada.com/pictures.htm

Look the people I met here in Canada are really nice people, but I'm not too sure how true the above sites says.

I've seen that site 3 years ago.

I even wrote to Dr Asad Raza the guy who owns the site.

He's a very very angry man because Canada made it very difficult for him to practise medicine.

I think what he says is true to a certain extent but not to the extreme he puts it lah.

But I accept the fact that I won't be able to be a doctor anymore.

So far everyone I've met who migrated from SG to Canada say they like it there. It's no worse than Singapore and sometimes better if you count the natural resources, wide spaces and welfare system.

Doc,

No offense, but I really think you are losing it when you say you are giving up your profession. People can only dream of having a job like yours. Its not about the financial security, but a sense of meaning and self satisfaction it provides.

Remember what Mr Khaw Boon Wan said recently? He said that he never wanted to be in politics, but his job as Health Minister brings meaning to him.

To migrate is fine, but to not use your gift is a crime.

Just my 5 cents worth
